One behalf of all his family I wish to place of record our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks for the wonderful support given by Dings Crusaders Rugby Club following Ivor’s sudden death. The floral tribute, cards and unprecedented attendance at the church and crematorium as well as the dignified minute silence before last Saturday’s game has been truly humbling and a great comfort to us all during this very painful time. His friendships across the generations of players, members and supporters were always very dear to him and are now a considerable consolation to his family. May I also say I remember Ivor scoring what would have been the wining try for the 3rdxv during the annual Boxing Day game with Ashley Down OB in 1969 unfortunately it was disallowed as he was judged to have received a forward pass whilst standing in an offside position! What nonsense he was never that quick! But we all know how referees can get such things so wrong!! Up the Dings! George Fackrell |
