Henley 28 - Dings 0

Another bad day for Dings when once again they never really started playing until the game was gone conceding two soft tries and twenty points before they had really seen the ball or got out of their own half. Despite competing well in the second half Dings never looked like scoring and had to settle for their sixth defeat in seven weeks.

Henley opened the scoring in the third minute when stand off Will Fulton found himself opposite a Dings prop in the Dings defensive line up, he sliced through for a try under the posts and added the conversion. With the Dings pack looking out of sorts and unable to secure any ball they remained under constant pressure and conceded countless penalties two of which were converted by Fulton for a lead of 13-0 by the end of the first quarter.

With centre Sam Caven sin binned on twenty-five minutes Dings continued under pressure and conceded their second try whilst down to fourteen men. It was a poor effort from Dings on thirty one minutes, from a Dings lineout ten metres out, the ball was over thrown to the middle jumper and went straight to the Henley No 8 Matt Payne who touched down unopposed. Fulton added the conversion for 20-0 to the home side at half time.

The second half opened much as the first with a try for the home side within minutes of the start, Dings had the ball under control at driving maul on their twenty two when the ball came out the back unseen by scrum half Steve Plummer and snapped up by his opposite number James Gaunt who sprinted to the corner for a try.

The remainder of the half was pretty even with Dings seeing much more of the ball and spending some time in the Henley twenty two but unable to break a stout home defence despite having a man advantage for nearly twenty minutes when the home side had first prop Alex Penny and then flanker Jack Henning sent to the sin bin. Fulton rounded off the scoring with his third penalty of the match to complete a miserable day for Dings.
