Dings versus Rosslyn Park – October 24th 2009,
At the Home of Rugby, Landseer Avenue. Dear VP’s one and all, Welcome to the latest season of Bon Cuisine, refined conversation, jovial fellowship and that Animal Passion that sets us apart from the other clubs we play. A somewhat mixed start to the season but with great promise being shown by our young side I would urge you to come along and support the lads with that unique blend of wit and encouragement for which we are justifiably proud. This game is a FREE ENTRY, so those of you who have not had the opportunity to renew your membership or even join the ranks of the Vice Presidents’ have an ideal reason for coming along for this game. Why not encourage some of your old team mates to join up as well, the atmosphere is great, and the greater the support the better we do. Please give this some real thought; the club needs your support. We are a dying breed of club who continue to uphold the traditional values midst a growing movement of semi-professional and we rely greatly on our supporters to help us along. The club is obviously attracting a more ‘upwardly mobile’ clientele these days judging by the Maserati parked in the car park for the ‘Shelford’ game (I was offered the tyres for £250 cash) It is going to be a tough league this season with no easy games so all the support you can give the lads will help. If there is anyone out there who is good with Theatre make up their skills could yet prove useful. Apparently it seems blood capsules, false scars, iron- on teeth marks, wooden legs all have a place in the modern game and we don’t want to be left behind by the technology of the Premiership. It’s worth coming just to see Ricky Jones stunning hair style, or lack of it! Our opponents on the 24th, Rosslyn Park RFC are one of those clubs with a famous name we enjoy playing so much and over the recent seasons we have enjoyed mixed fortunes so lets put one over on them this year, Look forward to seeing you all, Trev.
